One Shoe

One shoe,
It’s just not right
How’d you end up all alone tonight
Where in the world is your natural mate
How’d you find in a singular state
c
From the day you were created it was meant to be
It’s silly if you think there was a doubt
You’re only half of nature’s synchronicity
And teamwork is what you’re all about
v
Dunb shoe,
How’d you get to be here
You’ll get nowhere without your partner near
You’ll get no bookings as a solo act
You’re one of two, a mathematical fact
c
Didn’t you study your history
And how we work together to go far
From the sandal to the skate it’s not a mystery
There’s no fun with just one bumper car
Short instrumental
c
The present has a way of being hard to judge
The past is just a book already read
The future is a window with a great big smudge
You have to lead or else you will be led
v
One shoe,
You silly thing
A bird would fly in circles with just one wing
But with a little help you can soon bounce back
Let me lend a hand and get you back on track
One shoe. Dumb
shoe. Poor shoe.
